Half-Pint, cask ale at Flying Horse (JDW). Patchy beige head slowly fading over a deep copper-brown body, upper part lacing on the glass. Promising on the nose with brown malts, lightly roasted. Fine mixed taste of nuts, toffee, and a distant note of dark fruits. Lightly roasted bitterness to the ending. Like it. (Gatwick, 10.12.2023).

Cask. Brownish amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, some toasted notes, toffee and some slight burnt sugary notes. Flavour is sweet malts, some herbal and mild ripe fruity notes. Also a bit not-too-sweet raisin notes.

Cask The Gordon Highlander. It pours clear mahogany brown with a lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is woody, nutty, bitter - sweet, toffee, caramel, fruit cake, pie crust, brown bread and cola. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, chewy, toothy, toffee, caramel, splash of cola, dried fruits, fruit cake, wood, nutty, light spice, leafy vibes and earth with a drying finish. Medium body and soft, but we'll appointed carbonation. Like this quite a bit. Flavourful and balanced. Nice.

Cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Ruby brown with a fair bit of head. Light woody/malty aroma with a trace of bubblegum. The taste is more lively, with sweet malt combining with the slight sourness of cherries to create a decent balance. Finish is dry without being bitter. Decent enough.
