It’s been a minute … but 75 Minute IPA is back! What began as a cask-conditioned ale at our Rehoboth brewpub back in 2011, quickly grew to become a cult-favorite amongst craft enthusiasts. From the groucho glasses that adorned the label to it’s slightly dry and lingering bitterness, 75 Minute was (and is) beloved by many.
Now in our latest iteration, this classic IPA is again brewed with maple syrup from Sam’s family farm in Massachusetts, while being continually hopped throughout the boil, and then dry-hopped with a slew of cascade hops. The result is a malty and earthy brew with citrusy-pine aromas, balanced by subtle maple notes.

Bottle - Earthy piney hops and strong balanced malts. Clear gold with a persistent rich head. As with all these versions the sweet malts are in balance with the hops. In the 75 I found the malts dominating in flavor over the pine and a muted bitterness. This is not a fresh bottle which may effect the hop profile.

Bottle. Citrus/flowery aroma. Hazy orange amber, low offwhite lace. Sweet spicy malt base, herbal and citric hop. Mellow chewy mouthfeel. Good balance. Light sassafras aftertaste.

Bottle. Amber beer with a whitish head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Pine and grapefruit flavor with earthiness. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Pine and earth linger with light woodsiness and grapefruit.

750 mL bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold, with a big, thick and foamy head. There is lacing all over the glass. The aroma is honeysuckle, bitter orange peels, resin, and a little grain and caramel. The flavor is very sweet, and very bitter, but well balanced. The sweetness hits first, fading slowly to give way to a nice hop bitterness that lingers into a long, nicely bitter aftertaste. The palate is smooth and fairly carbonated. Overall, this a very nice IPA. The hop aroma is good, but nothing too special, but the flavor is well balanced, making this delicious and easy to drink.

Pours a clear orange-amber with a white head. Slightly oxidized aroma with slight maple malt and citrus. Massive bitterness and citrus hops on the taste. Maple and malt lend a nice backbone, without the maple being too pronounced. This is a well built beer.

It pours a beautiful light golden orange leaving the same color body with some nice haziness added. A one inch white foamy head appears inside the nonic pint glass. The smell has the maple syrup up front, but not overbearing, because I can still smell the hops, some light grapefruit and some light malts. The taste is sweet with the maple syrup up front but not overbearing still combined nicely with the hops, grapefruit and malts. The palate is between light and medium, no problem finishing off the bomber that was sitting on my buddy’s store shelf since August. Overall, this is an excellent American IPA that is borderline English because its so sweet. Next time, I want this with pancakes and sausage at breakfast.

Bottle from Khoury’s; clear amber pour, frothy white head, malt and honey aroma, as with the 60/90 great balance of malt and hop, citrus hop bite biscuity malt, heavy carbonation. Excellent IPA.

750 ml bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge off-white head with excellent retention; leaves decorative lacework. Aroma is grapefruity, apples and the maple syrup comes through fairly strong. Unfortunately, the maple syrup doesn’t come through as strong in flavor; this tastes like an underwhelming straight IPA for the most part. Doesn’t taste too fresh. Highly carbonated with a creamy mouthfeel. Even with these gripes, this still ain’t too bad.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a huge off-white head that slowly dissipates with good lacing. Aroma is spruce, pine, caramel, toffee, citrus. Flavor is about the same plus strong herbal notes, lightly rye spicy, lightly sweet, lightly bitter body with bitterness growing into the finish. Medium body. Good not great. I guess I am not a DFH IPA guy.
