An easy drinking and refreshing IPA. Fresh dry hop, herbal character is provided by the mix of Challenger and First Gold hops. The use of crystal malt in the grist gives a satisfying toffee/caramel note and the addition of a little black malt adds just enough astringency to give a clean, dry finish.
Malts: Pale, crystal and black malt.
Hops: Challenger, Pilgrim and First Gold.

Clear amber beer with a decent white head. Not much aroma. There’s a bit more going on in the taste with some tangy fruit and a bit of hop though it all dissipates quite quickly. Alright, but boring.

On cask. Amer body, no head. Aroma and taste of toast, floral hops, orange zest, grains and butter. Light bodied and flat. OK, but kinda weak.

Not a bad beer but not a great one. Lovely grass & flower aroma gives way to a reasonable taste and an acceptable finish. Its ubiquity ensures that it will all too often be kept under substandard conditions.
Footnote: I keep tweaking this rate, as condition (and possibly batches?) can vary so greatly. The perfectly-conditioned pint I’m drinking now is a decent 3.

Dark copper color with a creamy off white head that leaves a nice lacing. Floral hoppy, fruity and toffee aroma. Medium body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Floral, fruity and toffee in the flavor. Nice easy drinkable ale.

On tap at The Red Lion, Gatwick. Pours golden orange with small white head. Caramel malty, bit watery. Light bodied. Can’t see why it’s labeled as IPA.

Gylden brun med hvitt skum. Merkelig lukt, søtlig ingenting som antyder IPA. Helt smakløst, lite kullsyre. Merkelig!!!
