Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($6): Pours copper with a whitish head. Aroma is a bit of saison funk, with some tropical fruit, and a hint of rye. This is definitely less ryefull and malty than other rye saisons I have had. Light bodied, but substantial. Hoppy tingles. Lots of fruitiness, but not too much sweetness. A well-balanced session ale.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours a clear copper amber with some creamy, white head. Great nose, tropical fruit, orange, star fruit, lime, flower petals. Flavor is malty, fruity, asian pear, star fruit, orange peel, lime, a flick of spice. I thought the rye really came through nicely in the flavor as the backbone. Dry finish.
