Draught @ One Mile House. Inly dark nrownwith medium sized creamy tan head, very faint caramel aroma, low carbonation, sweetish mocha taste laced with alcohol, full body, longish mocha finish. Well rounded imperial stout; easy to drink despite the 11 plus percent ABV.

750 bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is leather, chocolate, and sour apple. Medium mouth, sour chocolate and bourbon, odd mess.

Noted as Aigre Plead The 5th. Opaque black beer, zero head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Smooth dark malt, no roast. Fair bit of bretty sourness with a red berry fruit undertone - strawberry readily identifiable. Finishes semi dry with traces of chocolate and coffee. A sour RIS eh? Very drinkable.

Sampled from the tap at EBF. Poured black with a thick dark brown head that lasted throughout the beer and laced slightly. Aroma started with with roasted malts as well as a note of dark biscuit/bread and some chocolate. Only a hint of sourness. Flavor started with sweet chocolate, roasted malt, dark grains and had just a hint of sourness that came out in the finish. Wish the beer would had showcased a bit more sourness.

Draft, 2010 4 Elf Release Party. Murky black body, no head. Rich, decadent body, with chocolate, molasses, coffee, and alcohol, vinous and heavy, finishing with a tart sourness that abruptly clips the rich stout flavors. The sour treatment seems to work for English porters and Belgian-style stouts, but the tartness in this robust imperial stout seemed out-of-place and ultimately did not complement (nor appreciably diminish) the fantastic base beer.
