Draft at blind tiger. A very nice stout, good blend of malts & the pumpkin contribution is minimal.

12 oz. bottle. Black, with a smaller, frothy, brown head. The aroma is raw cacao, chicory, resin, nutmeg, and grass clippings. Not very sweet, with a harsh, sticky bitterness. Medium to heavy body, grainy, and clingy. Kinda aggressive, but not bad.

Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate and rye bread notes. Taste has burnt malt, heavy cocoa. Palate has cinnamon, burnt nuts, coffee, cocoa. Eh.

(Thanks, Jim! Ozzy70) Bottle. A- Cocoa, strong holiday spice. A- Black color, dark liquid, no head. T- Pumpkin, clove, cinnamon, strong nutmeg, cocoa, slightly tangy. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, astringent finish. O- I was excited for this but the nutmeg was so ungodly overpowering that it was a bitter spice bomb. Combined with a tangy gourd flavor of rotten pumpkin. Either a bad bottle or very unbalanced considering it's sorta high rated.

Deep brown pour with a slight orange tinge. Smell goes more with toasty and roast malts, and is not overwhelmed by pie spice. Also picking up roast pumpkin or pumpkin muffin. After that great nose, the taste is kind of a letdown. A bit over roasted. And now there's too much cinnamon coming in. But at least the slightly bigger abv can be detected. Just gets kind of harsh for a fall beer.

Shared with the boys at BBT 11/2021. Med-thin body, surprisingly so. Med-high carbonation. Lots of malt flavours, crackers, biscuits, slightly nutty, caramelly, also chocolate, light coffee. This is combined with moderate pumpkin spice mix, it works together really well. Med-high sweetness, medium bitterness, med-light warmth. Rich, complex, intense, well balanced. Very good.
