750 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse, opened 6/11/14. Pours a hazy peach color with a medium sized fizzy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of citrus, lemongrass, tropical fruits, yeast, mild spice, pale malt. The taste is bready malts, spice, apples, tropical fruits, yeast, mild herbal hops. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, decent balance.

Sampled on draft at 3R6 this beer poured a murky bright orange-peach color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter and tart grapefruit, orange, must, pepper and yeast. The flavor was tart and bitter pepper, chamomile, wildflower, herbs, orange, grapefruit, must and bread. Long finish with ever growing wildflower. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Sparrow, 7/13/14
Aroma: Aroma of fruit and spice, pepper, very much Belgian yeast dominant, some citrus hop too
Appearance: It pours murky gold color with a lasting off-white head and some solid lacing
Flavor: Spice dominant taste, mild sweet, plenty of fruity and funky yeast esters, mid-bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, fairly fizzy on the mouth, with a lots of spice-tingle on the finish
Overall Impression: This is an interesting, but ultimately not totally satisfying example of the style. The peppery spice presence really overpowers everything else. I would have preferred a more balanced example of the style.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/9/2014. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright gold color with a 2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, clove, herbal, straw, grass, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of pale malt, fruity/earthy yeast, and spice notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, clove, herbal, straw, grass, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, clove, herbal, straw, grass, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast, pale malt, and spice flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice saison. All around good complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spice, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head recedes leaving spider lacing. Lemongrass and yeast aromas. Soft yeast and lemongrass upfront turning to bitter earth in the lasting finish.

Just a nice hazy golden. Nose is yeasty with all spice and grassy floral. Taste is slight sweet biscuit and touch of yeast and clove with lemon astringent. Pretty chewy probably wouldn’t seek this one out again.

22 oz. bottle from 7-11 Kittery, ME. Lightly pale yellow with light head retention. Aroma is yeasty with some lemongrass and pepper.
Flavor is light, clean and grassy. Lemongrass is fond throughout the sip with candy sugar, yeast and pepper toward the finish. Light floral hops with a kiss of pale malts of balance. Mouthfeel is lively with a light effervescent tingle. Very herbal. Pretty decent stuff.
