4oz at the brewery pours a clear copper with a ring of white head. Nose is mild, gristy, soap, some orange, a little buttery. Flavor is buttered biscuit, orange, lavendar soap, yeast, perfume. Spritzy finish. Not sure what to think.

Draught, smallish head, very cloudy amber color, malty barnyard aroma, barnyard and caramel flavor with some maltiness, light sourness, quite strong and a touch coarse bitterness. interesting but unbalanced and not too good.

Draught at St Gambrinus. It pours hazy deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is earthy, wood, varnish, leather, toffee and fudge. The taste is pretty bitter upfront, bitter-sweet vibe, caramel, chewy malt, toffee, toasted nuts, grass, leather and spice with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not one up there with a lot of their other beers. So-so.

Pine Box Rock Shop, Brooklyn tap: pours brownish with a whitish head. Aroma is a lot of english hops, herbs, bread, and toffee. Taste is actually pretty bitter, which makes it sort of an anomoly of the style. Nice libgerinn aftertaste. Not overly complex. Not bad.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with a huge off white head. Caramelish and toasted malty. Herbal and grassy. Toasted malty, bitter and slight herbal. Dry, bitter and roasted. Dry, bitter and herbal finish.
