Draft/Fest. A- Weak, bland, subtle cocoa. A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Roasty, cocoa, malty. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- Aroma was a bit of a let down and the taste was really traditional forward but still lacking. Needs some work but could be great.

Bottle, Boise imperial stout tasting. Pours a deep brown and capped with a small beige head. Nose is roasty, heavy roast, nutty, and some sweetness. Didnβt really care for the taste so much... heavy roast and a bit of licorice. Some dark fruit. The heavy roast seemed out of place and led into the sweetness being out of place.

Pour is an almost black with a small white head. Aroma is some chocolate malt, molasses and a fruity hop. Flavor is a bitter roast with some chocolate notes, a slight mint and bit of hops hiding in the backround. Finish leaves a of roast and molasses on the tongue. A decent beer, not as intense as some impy stouts, but worth a try.

Bottle with thanks to RobertDale. Pours opaque black with a large pillowy beige head that slowly dissipates leaving picture perfect lacing on the glass. Aroma is nothing special, lots of roasted malts, coffee, ashtray, a bit of cocoa, bitter on the nose. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, citrus and pine hops; this one is pushing toward black IPA for sure. Roasty, with coffee and malt notes, no real chocolate in the taste. Medium light body, creamy mouthfeel, a bit chalky perhaps. Lots of lingering citrus hops. Black IPA, and a good one.
