Full-bodied, very hoppy, with citrus, pine, fruity notes and a nice dry, bitter finish!
Blind Pig IPA was originally brewed by Vinnie at Blind Pig Brewing Co. in Temecula CA. Inspired by the original Blind Pig IPA, this beer is loaded with hop character but has a lower abv.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a clear, golden body under a dense, firm white head. The aroma is lovely, although a bit one dimensional. Lots of green pine cones and some peaches. The bitterness in the flavor lasts for a good while, keeping the light malty touch company. Green pine cones and peaches. Full body, nice carbonation, quite dry. Most definitely a really fine IPA. Won’t find ’em much finer than this. Most certainly far from extreme, but very balanced, and highly drinkable. Glad to have enjoyed more of it later on. 130806

Bottle fresh from San Francisco care of deeblo. I can’t thank you enough Bruce. A beer I’ve been after for the past 2 years. Pure clear gold colour with a thick cream coloured head. As I poured it, all I could smell was PNW hops. As I bring the beer to my nose, it’s all concentrated grapefruit hoppy. In the mouth it’s smooth and well balanced. Yes hoppy but there is just enough pale malt to keep it in check. It’s very clean. Not overly bitter on the finish. Yes big aroma, big hop flavour in mouth, but a clean refreshing finish. I mean stupidly drinkable. You could down pints and pints of this stuff. None of that sweet crystal malt character you get with many US IPAs. This is clean and showcases the hops perfectly. Comparing this with Thornbridge Jaipur, BrewDog Punk or Marble Dobber almost seems unfair. Jaipur probably comes closest. beautifully clean and elegant. But it has the everyday drinkability that you’d kinda like this in your local pub every day and would be your regular beer. Not sticky nor cloying. You know you shouldn’t meet your heroes but this and the Pliny the Elder were both better than I expected. And then Once in a Lifetime by Talking Heads came on the stereo........Yep a really great beer.

Grapefruit, blueberry, rosehip nose, quite strong. Crystal clear amber, medium head. Not nearly as hoppy on the palate. Drinks like an APA, actually, but a good one.

0.5l bottle from Bierkoning. Sweet! This is a blurry honey-orange one with a nice medium sized and somewhat lasting white bubbly top. It smells fresh, sweet and fruity. Green pine cones, some cortex, sweet malty caramel and glazed sweet tropical mango on the nose. Really fresh and good. It has a average carbonated thin oily mouthfeel. The taste is also dominated by green pine cones and a nice bitter fruitiness. More soft cortex and branches, I get a fruity mango and pineapple thing with a nice balanced hoppy and fruity bitterness. Also, something that reminds me of mixed and thinned out strawberry and raspberry syrup. Scary light drinkable this. I could drink many of these before I had to say stop. A shame I only have this bottle. A really nice non-extreme American IPA. 07.10.2012

Borefts warm up -bottle in the Hotel. Light haze on this gold beer. Tidy white head. Palate is light and crisp. Minerals. Mellow but fully flavoured hops. Orange, tangerine and floral flavours in great balance. Not a shouty IPA by any means - but very seductive and so very drinkable.
