Draught @ Real Gastropub, Honolulu. Dark brown, rich molassesy nose (must be the Amager) with vanilla, dash of milk chocolate. Taste is intense, going through waves of vanilla, wood, spicy, molasses... A little whacky actually.

Tasting at Chez Bruce. Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and a little dry. Fine carbonation. Spicy dark malts, but quite light. Tangy bourbon brings it’s own spice. Coffee is actually quite mild. Finishes airy with licorice and still more spice. Tasty but could be more sumptuous.

Bottle split at Bruces pad, thanks to Kenny, 28/05/14. Black with a moderate tan swirl and edgework. Nose is light booze, roast malt, dark chocolate, spice, toffee fudge, hoppy backnotes. Taste comprises rich chocolate, bourbon, spice, molasses, coffee, roasty tones. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with lightly warming booze. Decent BA impy.

0.5l bottle brought home from Bierkoning. The looks doesn't disappoint with its deep and dark brown, near black looking body with a big frothy chocolate ice cream looking lingering and lacing head. The aroma really fills the room from the second you pop the cap. Beautiful roasted and rich with lots of chocolate and cocoa. The coffee is deep, dark, roasted and espresso like. It also is loaded with, to my surprise, shockingly fresh nosing American fruity hops! The bottle is far from fresh, but it smells lovely hoppy and almost a bit vanilla sweet. A lovely nose! This just tastes almost a tad to good. So thick and oily in the mouth and it has a nice prickling carbonation level that's just tingling on the back of the tongue. Really packed with flavors. Rich roasted and coffee infused with a really punchy hop profile! Much more so than anything I was expecting. Woody chocolate and it's not hard at all to identify the Bourbon here. Super vanilla and cocoa nibs blended with a hoppy and really toasty base. Yeah, the vanilla is just popping in the mouth! It's just so good this. A lovely thing, and probably the best in the already amazing Hr. Frederiksen series. 20.01.2014
