Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Mitch. Pours black-brown with a fine, bubbly tan head. The nose has lightly astringent coffee, torched wood, some baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with earthy bitterness, coffee grounds, milk chocolate, burnt wood. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with bittersweet baking cocoa, more burnt wood, earth, toasted marshmallow, vanilla, burnt grass. Very nice beer.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours near black with a thick tan head. The nose is rich, roasty, toast, coffee, earth, dark chocolate, vanilla, toffee, fudge and toasted coconut. The taste is rich, roasty, cocoa, coffee, bourbon, warming alcohol, spice, mild acidity, earth, medicinal notes and dirt with a dry, warming finish. Medium+ body and fine, or prickly carbonation. Smells pretty awesome, but taste a birth dirrrrty. Bit boozy also. Not bad nonetheless.

Bottle. It pours a more or less black body under a dense, finger-thick light tan head. Lots of coffee on the nose, and too much vanilla, dark chocolate and even more vanilla. Some piney notes too. And a glue touch. The flavor too is way too vanilla-ish, with coconut, with roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and a little touch of hoppy bitterness. Lasting finish, still with too much vanilla and coconut. Love the coffee and chocolate though. Overall, way too vanilla-ish, but nice anyway. 140509

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a slight beige head. Nice smooth coffee aroma. Full bodied. Bourbon/vanilla finally shows up, but nice coffee is second, followed by brown sugar and treacle.

500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose brings out some serious bourbon notes, vanilla, chocolate and roasted malt - super decadent. Flavour is similarly decadent and super complex, with lots of highly roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla and cocoa. There is some noticeable heat in this, but not in a detracting way. The bourbon adds a wonderful element to this already awesome beer. Wonderful treat, despite the absurd price.

Bottle @ Sommerhus, Saltum. Pours black with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, oak, bourbon, light vanilla notes, little spice. Flavor is malts, coffee, rather strong bourbon dominates, little burnt caramel, chocolate, oak, hints of vanilla. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation, some warming alcohol. 220214
