50 cl bottle @ olio, no BBE info
Aroma has typical bourbon notes; vanilla, some oaky tones and sweetish whiskey. Also some oaty notes and hints of hay. Flavour has somewhat stinging and outstanding bourbon. Also some oat. Besides that it has vanilla and some salty licorice. Slightly better than basic version; the salty licorice is not that strong here.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown / black appearance with a brown head. Mild to moderate smoky (peat), ashy, burnt roasty malty, chocolate, slightly boozy whiskey, earthy, coffee aroma. Creamy, oxidized / woody / vanilla whiskey, toffee, very tannic, ashy / smoky, earthy coffee, chocolate flavor. A bit stronger than the non-barrel aged version and personally, not quite as enjoyable. Still enjoyable to a certain extent.

01.01.2014, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Big brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, dark malts, chocolate, coffee, roasted grain, burnt caramel, dark sugar, oak, alcohol. Taste is sweet and kind of harsh, dark malts, dark sugar, chocolate, burnt sour coffee, oak, almond essence, alcohol. Longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Nice enough, but far away from what I expected. Too much burnt sour coffee and oak, and totally miss the sweet vanilla bourbon touch.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. pours pitch black with a rather small mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, sweet low quality dark chocolate, alcohol, bourbon, soil and hints of citrus zest. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, brown sugar, charred wood, bitter chocolate, roasted nuts, bourbon, vanilla fudge, soil, grapefruit rinds and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, tiny roasted astringent, tiny watery and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter and tiny sour with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, moist soil, charred wood, bourbon and lemon zest. I can’t wrap my head around this one. It just doesn’t lift off for me.

500ml bottle. Pitch black colour with late awakening, huge, creamy, fairy lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Roasty dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, cappucchino, milk chocolate, a touch of vanilla, some treacle in the background. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, notes of coffee, cappucchino, treacle, a touch of vanilla, also dry roasty, hints of dark chocolate; hints of alcohol in the finish. Soft, slightly sticky palate, creamy texture. Feels like mocha ice cream or better, like a ice cream known to me as "Malaga", mocha with rum soaked raisins. Superb!
