The Biolégère is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Created in 1992, this beer was the answer of our brewery to the increasing demands coming from a large group of potential clients, wanting an organic* beer with character but low in alcohol.
This light and refreshing blond beer combines marvellous aromas, taste of malt and citrus.
The refermentation in the bottle in combination with an “adapted hopping” are resulting into a complex beer with only a small degree of alcohol.
The production is being controlled by Certisys and the beer has the label Biogarantie®.

0.25 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, bottled in February 2016. Clear, golden yellow with a massive, very dense, stable, white head. Sweetish-fruity, floral and yeasty-spicy aroma of peach, clove, some grass and a touch of banana. Sweetish, very fruity, floral and slightly yeasty-spicy taste of lemon peel, some peach, clove and a touch of banana and fresh grass, followed by a short, just slightly bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy and a little dry finish. Thin to medium bodied, a little spritzy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Refreshing, well-balanced and very sessionable!

Bottled October 23rd 2015. 750ml.

It pours a hazy straw yellow with a massive fizzy head of foam.

Smells yeasty, of Belgian spices, candi sugar, light lemon zest. Also, a smell usually associated with light struck; green bottle and only 3.5% abv.

Tastes of yeast, mild spicing, bit of banana and lemon, sweet like candi t.

Smooth, balanced, and scary drinkable. I love it.

Hazy, translucent golden, average head with decent retention and good lacing. Smell is a bit weak: fruity and floral hints among a bit of bready/crackery malts. Taste has light malts (white bread?), some not particularly distinct fruity notes, a grassy hint. Overall it’s moderately sweet with a slight hint of tartness and a delicately bitter finish. Body is obviously light with moderate crispness; smooth and easy. Enjoyable, but undoubtedly subdued, maybe not as refreshing as expected

Bottle from Drinkshop. Clear golden colour, stable white head. Quite clean spicy horsey saisony aroma. The same can be said about taste. Very clean and tasty, with clean saisony barnyardy flavours,

Bottle. Nose is very bready, yeast, fresh hops, greens, slight floral note . Very faint funk. Taste is hay, grains, leading to a steady funk, spice and pepper, some lemon character, herbal and floral hop note. Mouthfeel is light and strongly carbonated. I’m surprised by the volume of negative reviews. This is an excellent well balanced session beer. It’s too expensive and in a little bottle when exported, but finding a full glass of this over lunch on a hot Belgian day must be a delight.
