Bottle, sampled August 2018 as Julporter Tvåtusensexton. Dark brown, almost black body with a fine, dense beige head. Nice aroma with roasted dark malt and dark chocolate. Flavor is very smooth, medium sweet, dark roasted malt, hint of coffee, dark fruit and moderate but balanced bitterness. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Very nice indeed.

(Bottle) Black colour, ruby hints through light, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black bread, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice fudge, raisins and a touch of smoke. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, black bread, raisins, coffee, liquorice, toasty malt and a mild roasty bitterness in a dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Solid and well made porter. Very nice.

Draught @ Highlanders Bar as Popples Juleporter 2018. Pours black with a small creamy brown head, lacings. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, cocoa, mild smoke, light spice, light licorice. Flavor is light sweet, roast malt, caramel, cocoa, light licorice. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, dry ish finish. 011118

Tap @ Highlanders as "Poppels Julporter", 5.5%. Almost black with big beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel and dusty. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, medium sweet, liquorice, medium sweet, little liquorice and medium bitter.

KØLF 100818. Black color with a tan head. Aroma is rosted malt, coffee, chocolate. flavor is dry, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, spices. Nice beer.

330 ml bottle, as Poppels Julporter Tvåtusensexton, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger.
ABV is 5.5%. Black colour, huge tan head. Aroma of roast malts, hints of coffee, chocolate and nuts. Slightly dry flavour, like the aroma, but the roastiness is not overdone. Very moderate hops.
