Pours ok - brown with decent head and lacing, but smells like tin initially. Tastes with light hops but even that’s a stretch. Leave is sour with little bitterness. Lively carbonation. Another average brown ale. Tall can from the Strath in Victoria.

16oz can pours a hazy caramel brown with some frothy, white head. Aroma makes it obvious... infection. Smells dusty, like an old couch and not much else. Flavor is sweet, malty, dusty, not too much happening. Watery finish. Way off.

16 oz can. Pours brown with a huge yellow head. Aromas of malts, dark fruit, and maybe a hint of smoke. Flavors of malts and salty nuts, and again maybe a hint of smoke. Other than the salt and smoke I couldn’t pull bacon. OK for a Nut Brown.

Can at BrewDog Aberdeen. It pours deep brown, with a massive yellow-white head. The nose is smoked streaky bacon, toast, treacle, caramel, roasted malt and earth. The taste is roasted malt, earth, toast, wood, saltiness, burnt caramel, subtle bacon and light spice, with a very dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty salty actually. Okish Brown ale.

Sample at SBWF 2012. Dark amber with a small head. Aroma and taste of malt, some ham, wood, yeast and some spices. Drinkable but nothing sensational.

Enjoyed from can while hanging out at the roof top at Fountainhead in Chicago, IL on my birthday. I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, but I remember being completely unimpressed. At one point I got a pure gulp of sodium, maybe my worst beer drinking experience so far. Not the worst beer ever, but not really too good and Rogue’s bacon beer was hands down much better than this one.
