Export edition (lower on ABV than the original). Estrella Damm Pilsner has been brewed in Barcelona since 1876 and has become a symbol of the people in this advanced and friendly city. It is golden, with amber tones and a few green hints. The head has an ecru colour and is long-lasting.

This cerveza poured a clear light yellow colour with a minimal bright white head. Scents include corn, perm solution and hops. First swig was very light and watery with little flavour of corn and malt. Finish is so light it almost doesn't exist....

Can, 0.5l. Bought in Spar supermarket in Varazdin. Pours a clear yellow color with almost no head. Smell of yeast and grass. Thin body with medium carbonation. Slightly bitter taste. Taste of malts and yeast, but very, very faint. Dry finish. Overall, incredibly poor and empty. Weak, thin, watery. It’s like 90% carbonated water, 10% beer. Avoid.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a crystal clear very light straw colour with a frothy broken white head. The aroma is light malt, some light hoppy notes. The flavour is light bitter with a watery light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty awful.

Pours light yellow with white head. Almost no aromas, thin body, watery, bitter aftertaste, annoyingly flat cheap lager. I can’t possibly understand what the importers had in mind when they chose to present it @Athens Craft Beer Expo. Estrella, a craft beer? GET SERIOUS!

On tap @ Espana tapas, Broadbeach, QLD. Minimal nose, crystal clear yellow beer with small white head. No bubbles. Flat mouthfeel, slight zing. Finish is sweet and abrupt. Standard Euro-lager, even blander than some.

This beer came to me by way of a birthday present from my 3 and 5 year old daughters, who must have loved the shiny red can. I didn’t expect much on the pour, a little too light, a little too clear, a smattering of thin head. Doughy malt with a little corn syrup in the nose. But the taste surprisingly hit the spot, with the burger with rosemary I was eating. It’s the malty bitterness that balanced out the thinner palate, and the sweetness. This is about as complex as my 6 month old son, but a least they didn’t get suckered into syrup sweetness which is the norm.

Helder lichtgeel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en waterig, niet veel verdere smaak nuances. Als het goed koud is en je hebt dorst is het te doen, verder zou ik hier niet al te lang bij stil staan.

660ml bottle from local shop, 4.6%. Pale golden colour, frothy white foam head and grainy grassy aroma. Malt, corn grain & cardboard flavour with some grassy bitterness. Watery mouthfeel, light bodied, highly carbonated, papery light bitter finish. Standard pale lager.

crystal clear bright golden colour, moderate sized white head; aroma of grassy hops, cardboard notes and grains; taste of a sourish simple lager; not that bad, though extremely overpriced, so I’ll never buy again
