Precis som korven har alkoholstark lager de senaste årtiondena haft ett ofärtjänt skamfilat rykte i Sverige, då dessa öl oftast handlat om den höga alkoholhalten och masskonsumtion och inte om smaken. Med S:t Eriks IPL tar vi därför tillbaka den alkoholstarka lagern till ölälskarna, med en stor portion Mosaic.

(Bottle) Pale amber colour, hazy, with frothy off-white head. Malty, slightly fruity taste with bread, honey, apricot marmalade, dried pineapple, honey, toast and tropical fruit. Malty, hoppy taste with honey, orange peel, apricots, dried pineapple, tropical fruit, bread and a balanced, floral, citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well made, with a generous tropical/floral hop presence. Quite nice.

330ml bottle, thanks to djoeye. Shared with Finn. Hazy golden-orange coloured body. Fair off-white head. Dotted spots on the glass. Restrained aroma of dried fruits and brown malts. Dried fruity taste, including apricot, backed by a touch of toffee. Mid-dry malt fruity tail. Warming heat from the alcohol. Decent, a bit heavy to drink though (New Year session at Finns, Tromsø 05.01.2016).

Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Clear, amber-golden colour with a thin, white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, grasses, caramel and pale malts. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter with citrus fruits. Nice Lager.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a small, rough, white head. Nose has greasy, citrusy hops. Rich, malty body, lots of sweet malt towards caramel. Some citrusy hoppiness leading to a bitter finish. Pity about the greasy nose. 310115
