"I think I'm getting the black lung pop. It's not very well ventilated down there". This really, really, ridiculously good looking peated stout - aged in Rum barrels from the Hoochery Distillery - will leave you gasping for that last breath of clean air before succumbing to the intense roasty smoke flavour. The black lung is best enjoyed with a ventilator.

12oz bottle pours a murky, oily black with some creamy egg yolk colored head. Nose of rubber, raisin, black pepper, yeasty, burnt caramel. Flavor is rubbery, crackery, burnt bread, medicinal, lots of charcoal. Full bodied, boozy finish.

Bottle. Poured a dark black-brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was mostly smoke, with some woody notes. Bitter, dark chocolate. No real rum notes, but general barrel character.

Intensiv malziger Antrunk, Röstnoten, wenig süß. Das Bier ändert sich wenig und bleibt einsilbig, mild rauchig im Abgang. 9/9/9/9/8/8

Fare thee well Josh tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to our Josh for another Australian rarity. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Small pale tan - cream head. Nose is an unusual mixture of smoke and flowers. Palate is light, softish and semi dry. Light tangy dark malt, little dark chocolate. Mild smoke and tcp. Not getting any rum, mores the pity. Light finish. Not bad.
