Süßlich rauchiger Beginn, spritzig. Dezent herb, trocken. Milde Bitterkeit, die Rauchigkeit sinkt. Spritzig, trockene Würzigkeit, geringe Süße zum Ende. Nett. 10/11/11/11//11

Bottle. A- Beef jerky, cherry, oak, smoke, char. A- Brown color, cloudy liquid, tan head. T- Ham brine, smoke, slightly sweet, grill scrappings. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- One of the better smoked beers I’ve had to date. Not overly forward with the umami, bacon, and ham flavors I’m used to. A touch of dark fruit and sweetness and not too aggressive with the smoke either. All in all a nice smoked.

Totalnie pachnie wedzonka. Wedona makrela, sery goralskie, szynka szwardzwaldzka, kielbasa swojska. Jak w dobrym Rauchbier dymny aromat wygasajacego ogniska. W smaku wszystkie walory wedzenia. Troche nut debowych jakby bylo, przypominalo zwlaszcza kompot wigilijski z suszu. Sliwka wegierska glownie na zakonczenie. Wyglad to malenka piana splywajaca ze szkla niestety barwa metna brazowa.

Bottle from Denman Wine and Spirits, Vancouver
Dark brown color, opaque, with medium head. Nice, strong smoke character; in the aroma it presents itself with some sourness, like smoked ham, estery; in the flavor I’s not supported by enough malth depth; there is enough residual sugar, some caramel, but not much malt complexity; it pays also in the final, having low bitterness.
Not bad, but not a biting beer.

Bottle from the Real Ale Store, Newark. Slightly hazy relish brown colour with a white head. Aroma is the caramel of cooked smoky bacon, with a fruity edge. Taste smokey caramel sweet.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Hazy amber brown colour, beige foam. Nose of berries, caramel, smoked meat. Tart notes, are a bit annoying but nevertheless not a bad beer.

Well its been awhile since I’ve been moved to rate a beer this high. This is jus good stuff. Big smoky nose, campfire and smoked sausage/ham. Meaty flavors, smoky, sweet caramelized malts, balanced finish, great palate.
