0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, bottled in February 2015. Clear, deep red with a thin, soapy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish-malty, smoky aroma of charcoal, smoked ham/salmon, caramel and some nuts. Sweetish-malty, smoky taste of caramel, sweet nuts, raisins, charcoal and smoked ham, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, rather smoky finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Nice!

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a lot of peat and campfire smoke. Flavour is along the same lines, with loads of peat, dark fruits and bready caramel malt. Smoky and fruity. Excellent.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with full head. Aromas of smoked bacon. Flavors of bacon and campfire with a bit of sweet fruit. Not my cup of tea - too much smoke and no balance.

Brown with no head. Aroma is strong and is of smoked meat. Flavour has lots of dark malts with some caramel. It’s quite smooth and creamy in its texture. Tastes much less smokey than it smells.

33cl bottle @ Vaasa sessions. Day 2. Pours brown, unclear, thin off white head. Smoke and tar, burntness and cough medicine in aroma. Flavor has peaty notes, smoked ham and tar. Malty medium bodied with a tar candy finish.

Dark amber color, small beige head. Strong smoked ham aroma, some sweet notes. Medium-bodied. Sweetish malty, then smoke, "ham", tar. Hops and alcohol in the finish. Speciality. Ok.

Bottled. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is smoked, leathery and some rubbery notes. Flavour is smoked wood, mild earth, leather and some tar.

27/II/16 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 26/II/17, bottled: 26/II/15 (2016-236)

Clear reddish brown beer, creamy beige to yellow head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very smoky, lots of peat, caramel, banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very smoky start, some caramel, peat, green banana, sweet touch. Aftertaste: bitter, (peated?) smoky, bit sourish, caramel.

26-2-'15. Smokey, rich meatyness, but not too overpowering. Some caramel and sweetness. Still clearly a doppelbock underneath. Nice balance.

Pours syrupy copper with a small head.Nose shows lots of smoke with meaty notes, some sweet malt and bready/toasty characters.Flavours include sweet bready malt and heaps of smoky meat notes as well as a hint of vanilla and caramel.
