Bottle at a tasting. Very rich, whiskeyish, roasted, dark malts. Great complexity, full bodied, yet easily drinkable. Very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Vova. Black with a tan head. Smoky peaty aroma with whiskey, roast, wood, coffee. Sweet flavor with peat smokiness, wood, chocolate, roast, coffee, a bit of alcohol. Full-bodied. Really good.

#2 version Pours a tad viscously to a small yellow-beige head over jet-black beer. Nose of billberries, roasted, then steadily growing peat, tarr, phenols, smoked. Alcohol lurking. Bitter, hoppy & roasted, dark green leaves retronasal. Smoked, phenols, more warming up, also getting sweeter, liquorice-like. Even more settling, toasted pie crust. Very well-bodied, serious alcoholwarming, medium carbonation. Rather typical smoked IRS. Quite good, but some have more depth.

33 cl bottle @ home. Black color. Hardly any head. Aroma’s: light iodine & peat, chocolate. A bit more iodine retronasal, roast. Flavor is only light sweet, roasted, earthy/peaty. Quite strong alcohol feel. Hardly any carbonation. Long finish, peaty, with something herbal/spruce, quite bitter. Nice, but not the best of Emelisse’s White Labels.

Bottle. Huge peat nose, band-aid, chocolate, smoke. Flavor os chocolate, smoke, peat, light grapes, apples, whisky, berries, white pepper. This is pretty nice, although peat is not my thing.

33cl bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a very small head. Smells of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malts and peated whiskey. Bitter and smokey taste, peated but not overwhelmingly so, with notes of cocoa, dark chocolate dark cherries and whiskey. One of the better peated beers out there. --- Beer merged from original tick of White Label Imperial Russian Stout Port Charlotte on 11 Feb 2016 at 11:28 - Score:
