Bottle. Pours dark brown without head. Aroma is sweet, vanilla, roast, wood, peat, tar, dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dark chocolate, peat, malt. Finish is dark chocolate bitter. Overall: great brew.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 06/2020. Black, non-lasting sparse mocha bubbles for a head. Nose is gravy, meaty, smoke, soy sauce, peat is low, a bit forward on those flavours but there is some balance to be found, low mocha & sugar, blueberry. It is soy sauce, gray & peat forward but not overly heavy so, interesting & enjoyable. Taste is peat & charcoal, creamy enough with some soy sauce, fish sauce, gravy, smoked meat, leather, blueberry, creamy & not to extreme while still being forward on those flavors, light mocha in the back, light vanilla & sugar. A touch too heavy on the barrel or the body is not heavy enough. Body is heavy but feel a touch light for what it is, low carbonation. Overall extreme flavours but it works rather well & drinks nicely. There have been about 2 better peated entries in this series I think but this is still a very nice & interesting beer. Nice work.

Bottle 330ml. @ [ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2015 (TEODRBSG15) ] - fonefan & Brugmansia House, Denmark. [ As Emelisse White Label Imperial Russian Stout (Port Charlotte) ].Clear dark black brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, peat, chocolate, smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, peat, smoke. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20150829]

Bottle from Gall and Gall in Den Haag. Poured almost black with a bubbly round off white head. The aroma is peat, smoky malt, alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, smoky liqourice bitter with rich alcoholic, dry, roasty smoked malt, coffee, light vinous palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation.

33cl Bottle from Sterk. Black colour, thin beige head. Aroma is sweet, molasses, liquorice, sweet peat, soft iodine, bitter chocolate. Flavour follows, quite some liquorice, soft sweet peat, hint of iodine, bitter chocolate, light fruity, roasted malts, coffee, bittersweet finish, sticky. Medium to full bodied. Tasty, easy drinking, flat, not as peated as I expected.

Bottle at the 1st Annual Christmas at The Garvie’s tasting 2015. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate, light boozy whisky. Taste is very woody. Woody finish.

Bottle at home, 2nd October 15. Pours black , neat lacing ring. Aroma is heady, whiskey, peat, dark chocolate, liquorice, molasses. Taste is peaty , not overly so, bitter dark chocolate, almost chilli or slight alcohol burn, works well. Another brilliant White Label
