Bottled 330ml (Saveur)
Dark color, mostly vanishing head. Strong peaty Islay nose with toasted maltyness. Medium-bodied. Roasted malty flavor with lots of whiskey. Peaty whiskey kick. Thinnish, more like drinking Islay dram than RIS.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, average sized brown head. Aroma is malts, some peat, lightly smoke. Taste malts, dark malts, lightly peat, moderately bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Hmm I’m not convinced even though the aftertaste is somehow very nice. Definitely worth a try though.

Bottle @ benzai. Black colour with a medium sized light brown head. Smells red wine, cork, dusty, cellar, grapes, funghus, peat. Tastes red wine, grapepeel, roasty, quite a lot of peat, gluhwein. Full body, slightly silky, soft carbo. Not a bad brew, just not my brew!

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 06 2020, large sample. Dark color, short frothy brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, peat, iodine, roast, bit coffee. Chocolate of the base beer comes through in taste, but with a dry peaty and ashy touch. Peat is not as overwhelming as some of the other white labels, but still quite present. I’m happy to see the sweet chocolatey RIS is there as well, especially in taste, to carry the peat. Makes it drinkable for me as well. Balance is decent, but still too much peat for me.

Draft @ Uiltje bar. Black oily pour, small brown head. Aroma of peat and bandaid, with a little roasty smoke. Tasty is rich and full, with peated smoke, roasted malt, coffee and creamy choco. Was expecting a peat bomb, but this is very balanced.

Tap at Uiltje bar. Black with big beige head with on top of that some big bubbles. Looks great. Peat up front, followed by strong scotch notes, chocolate, earth, espresso, vanilla, icecream. Medium sweet with roasted and peaty bitterness. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation. I’m not a huge fan of peated beers, but this is really good.

Draft at Uiltje Bar. Pours near black with the strangest head I’ve ever seen - a thick creamy beige layer with a layer on top of massive beige bubbles. Aroma of massive peat upfront, with fudge and chocolate lightly behind. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter, with fudge, chocolate, roast and caramel aspects coming out far more in the palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
