33cl Bottle from Secret Sint. Light/Dark version? I don’t know. But judging from the ratings, the dark is 9.5% ABV, the light 8.5%. Anyway, my beer wasn’t dark at all, and ABV was 8.5%, so here goes: Hazy golden orange colour, creamy off-white head. Aroma of fresh apple juice, sour apples, a light Brett-character shining through, alcohol, citric acid. Flavour is quite tart to sour, lemon, citric acid, apples, malts, sugar, alcohol bitter finish. Medium-bodied. I have the feeling I had an infected bottle, I don’t think this beer was intended to be quite tart.

Bottle @ Drie Dorstige Herten. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Nose is fruity, hoppy and yeasty. Flavour is yeasty, slightly sour, floral, with a fairly bitter finish. The american hops are noticable.

Bottle @ home. Amber colored, average sized off-white head. Smell malts and pretty sweet for a tripel. Tastes pretty sweet as well, too sweet for a tripel imo. Finish is fruitpeel-bitter. Medium carbo, medium body.Earlier Rating: 6/18/2011 Total Score: 3.5Smells kind of weird; anise and ’drop’ (don’t know the English word for that). Tastes a little like sambucca. Aftertaste not bad, palate good for 9.5ABV.

Clear light amber yellow colour, white head. Aroma is rather sour, barnyard, grassy hops, fruity, nuts, caramel and -strangely enough- asparagus. Flavour is not as sour as the nose suggests, slightly bitter, somewhat sweet. Notes of vegetables and barnyard come back in the flavour. Finish quite nutty. Rather strange tripel to be honest.
