Bottle split at L6, thanks to Tips, 'Farewell New Ken' tasting 18/09/19. Black with a well presented tan head. Nose is light roast, chocolate, hint of black peppery spice, fruit loaf. Taste comprises mellow roast, tangy fruits, dates, figs, chocolate biscuit, toffee. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Passable impy stout … lacking some depth for the ABV.

Bottle shared at the Columbus tasting 18/09/2019. Many thanks! A clear brown black coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is sour white grape, vanilla, tangy white grape, . Flavour is composed of oily, waxy, brown sugars, white grape, , bown malts. Palteis semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Ok

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Sr. Tipple. Pours black-brown with a foamy, tan head. Has smooth dark malt character, notes of oxidation, meaty chocolate, earthy bitterness, some raisins, old leather, moss. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, with bittersweet chocolate, scorched earth, toasted grass, a little old coffee. Good stuff overall.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, with medium cocoa, and some light earthy coffee. Flavour brings out medium roasted malt, with some cocoa, and a touch of soy sauce. Soy-like and roasted finish. Good stuff.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a tan head that’s soon a coat. Aroma of fudgy mocha, vanilla, blackberries. Fullish bodied with low carbonation makes it quite silky. Whilst quite sweet and certainly in the dessert mould, there’s firm to strong bitterness (which I liked) that never seems too much because it doesn’t get dry or ashy at the end. Berries, mocha, hints of licorice. Slightly woody with heady vanilla at the end, but couldn’t really say whether the bottled version has been in a whisky barrel or not (this is not a criticism). Runs sweeter and a little less roasty than I’d prefer, but it’s very well done.

From a 640ml bottle on 4/1/2017. Pours the darkest brown with not much of a head.The nose is sweet, with lots of chocolate and caramel. Take a sip and you’re in lovely dessert territory - chocolate fudge, praline and caramel, with the barest hint of berries, licorice and scotch. The palate is thick and the carbonation soft. A well balanced, complex, lovely dessert stout. Damn Riverside are making some good shit.
