Bière dégustée en compagnie de Graham. Petite déception pour ce Baltic Porter qui manque d'intensité, de densité et de profondeur pour un résultat très moyen. Le visuel est sur un brun limpide sans mousse. Le visuel est sur le café, le charbon et la réglisse. En bouche, c'est une texture très fine que l'on découvre pour un porter sans relief ni complexité. L'alcool, à 8 % n'est pas non plus très efficace et en rétro, le porter présente une douceur qui ne rend que plus mollasson l'ensemble. La brasserie sait mieux faire.

12/11/2022. Can shared in Noumea, bought at The Oak Barrel, Sydney. Pours slightly hazy dark brown with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, dark fruits, light smoke and liquorice, brown sugar, meaty edge. Medium plus sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Moderate body, oily but watery, soft carbonation. Bit underwhelmed by this one.

Bottle. Dark brown with a light tan head that fades to a coat. Aroma of bread, chicory, mocha, earth, prunes. Fullish bodied, carbonation just on the low side of medium. Lovely and smooth. Sweet with a real stout-meets-dunkel maltiness, gentle spices and dried fruit that's just a hint. Bitterness is sufficient to nip things off at the end, but I wouldn't have minded a touch more. Likeable, respectful.

650ml bottle. Slightly sharp and malty porter, with a somewhat dry finish. Very smooth for the strength.

Pours dark brown with a small head.Nose shows bready malt, booze, chocolate fudge.Flavours include sweet bready malt, soft roast, nutty malt and a hint of smoke.

Dark with a tan head. Aroma is roasted coffee, chocolate, earthy, a bit of bitter dark chocolate. Medium bodied. Flavor has notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee, some molasses, and a finish that is slightly bittersweet malty. Truly, a nice porter.
