Shared bottle at local tasting. ABV is 13.75%. Reddish brown colour, small off-white head. Distinct aroma and flavour of bourbon and oak, hints of coconut.

650ml bottle. Pours brown. Pepper, biscuit, deep rye, bourbon, vanilla, wood. Oily body. Real hot to start but the bourbon is smooth. Tasty, but definitely a sharer. Would perhaps have anticipated a bit more complexity given the 3 years in barrel.

Bottle, 13.75% ABV. Murky brown, a coat of off white head that's completely gone in 30 seconds. 3- Spicy and bready rye aroma with plenty of Bourbon. No obviously unintegrated booze. Some plums, vanilla. Very low carbonation, but it's not flat. Ah, this is clever - there's lots of Bourbon but it gets reined in and then completely overpowered by the strong rye ale, so that the end is firm rye bread and politely insistent bitterness. Impressive.

On taster at Great Australasian Beer Spectapular in Melbourne: big and boozy nose. Luscious mouthfeel, Heady caramel and vanilla flavours matched beautifully with the sweet bourbon notes. Awesome.
