Strange, in that I expected this to be a bit more ale like, but it’s more like a mass produced cider. I guess that’s what they were going for. Aroma was apples, flavor was apple juice.

Australian version from CUB (4%).330ml bottle into shaker. Aroma of stale malt, cardboard and tin. Crystal clear amber beer with two finger white head, steady stream of fine bubbles. Tastes like weak fruit juice that has been filtered through white bread crusts. Weird! I find it hard to believe that there was a demand somewhere for this. Quick! More focus groups!

12 ounce bottle. Clear brassy gold color. No head. Fresh apple nose. Sweet apple flavor is reminiscent of a sparkling apple cider and a light bodied beer.

Australian version, brewed by CUB. Orange with a detergent-like white head. Aroma of cardboard, cooked apple puree. Wow, the head feels like soap bubbles. Very sweet, more rubbish cider than beer. The finish really needs a little more bitterness or acid just to stop the flabby puree from droning on. Fairly nasty.

On tap. Pours a near clear gold with visible carbonation and a white head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma is full of sweet, almost candied apple. Flavor has lots of sweet apple/apple juice up front with a touch of crispness.

Pours a dark straw from a bottle. Not much going on here, lots of apple aroma and flavor, sweet.

Can. Clear gold color, aroma is apple juice and sugar. Flavor is lightly artificial with a light granny smith kind of note. Damn, just a lot of sugar. Well, I wasn’t expecting much and it didn’t prove me wrong. It’s drinkable but for what purpose?

Draught at the Amon Amarth show in Ft Lauderdale, FL. Samled on January 26, 2014.Clear golden color, small white head. Apple scent. Apples, sweet taste. Apple aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. A bit tart. Strikes me as a decent cider.
