Bottle (says Seasonal Ale on front, 111 British India Pale Ale on back). Copper with a fat coat of pale beige head. Aroma of stewed fruit, butterscotch, earthy and grassy hops. Medium bodied. As much caramel as fruit with any sweetness countered by firm earthy bitterness. Tasty but a bit of a vague palate.

Schooner on tap at Buckleys, Sydney. Cloudy marmalade colour with high fine carbonation. Sticky creamy white head. Nose is distant burnt caramel. Laces well. Zingy in the mouth with burnt caramel taste. Finish is slight bitter lemon with late grapefruit and pepper. Perfectly acceptable IPA, just lacking a ’wow’ factor.

Draught half pint at the brewpub on July 12, 2013.Described as an India Pale Ale at 5.2%.Cloudy copper color, yellow to teal head. Malty, nutty, herbal taste. Bitter aftertaste. Very British character, feels like Maris Otter malt. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. SWeet, malty, light hoppy scent.
