Kettle Series. This beer gets its name from the Hopunion Hop Hash nuggets - pure hop lupulin extracted and scraped from the Hopunion pelletizing line, then boiled for 90 minutes in the kettle. According to the brewer, this has never been done before! Premium 2-row, Great Western Munich, Crisp 60L and rolled oats comprise the grain bill designed to carry this load. Fermented warm using American Ale yeast to bring out the fruitiness, the resulting beer is designed to be a surprise on all fronts. Even the brewer has no idea how hoppy it’ll be.

Tap at Imazato. Orange-amber, shiny, lacy. Nose of pine resin, grass, mint, caramel. Big and rich, very grassy, piny, minty, with full, heavy caramel. Not my thing, though not bad.

Bottle shared at BBF ’14, 27/09/14, thanks to the supplier. Clear amber with moderate off white spotting. Nose is pine, earthy tones, apricot, bitter orange. Taste comprises earthy hops, caramel malt, pine, orange pith, grapefruit, tea bags. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so IPA, lacks citricana and hops for this Bois.

Bottle shared @ Borefts 2014. Clear amber color. Off white/light beige head, uneven, sticky. Aroma’s: red fruit, brown sugar, light resinous hops. Retronasal there’s red fruit, hops, some dark malts. Flavor is moderate bitter, fruity, caramel. Medium bodied. Long lasting bitter finish. Not great imho, but perhaps the bottle was a bit too old. 6/3/7/3/14 Re-rate from tap (BT): Hazy copper color. Rocky off white head. Aroma’s of piney hops, some dark malts, some sweet fruit. More sweetness retronasal, some piney hops, seems slightly old. Flavor is rather bitter, but somehow subtle. Medium bodied. Strong bitter finish. 7/3/7/3/14

Thank you Martinus! Bottle sampled @ Borefts 2014. Creamy orange, thick pine resin hops & solid biscuit-like malt base, plenty of malts, toffee. Okay but too much malts.
