Kettle Series. This beer gets its name from the Hopunion Hop Hash nuggets - pure hop lupulin extracted and scraped from the Hopunion pelletizing line, then boiled for 90 minutes in the kettle. According to the brewer, this has never been done before! Premium 2-row, Great Western Munich, Crisp 60L and rolled oats comprise the grain bill designed to carry this load. Fermented warm using American Ale yeast to bring out the fruitiness, the resulting beer is designed to be a surprise on all fronts. Even the brewer has no idea how hoppy it’ll be.

Bottle from de Molen, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Clear golden to orange color, short frothy head. Aroma is hoppy, grapefruit, bit pine, citrus, quite malty as well from biscuit and cookie, some caramel. Soft to medium bitter in taste, bit malty. Easy going american IPA.

Bottle at Craft Cafe Imazato shared by my buddy Mick. A lovely copper pour with a slight white head of foam. It has a solid hop bouquet with a well balanced flavor profile. It didn’t really stand out but was enjoyable enough.

Deep amber beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and crisp, semi dry. Mild minerals. Malts provide mild sweetness to balance the bitter hops. Mild caramel and very mild cream. Noble tasting hops, big floral bitterness with a touch of grassy harshness. Trace of citrus. Crispy dry finish, mild citric linger. Mmmmm - comes over like an Imperial English Bitter. Tasty but a bitter bastard.

65 cl bottle @ olio
Aroma is rather sweet with sugary tones and fruity hops. Also some weird dough and toffee notes. Flavour has toffee, some gooseberry bush, grapefruit and hints of caramel. Feels British. A musty disappointment and does not feel as hoppy as I thought.

Pours copper orange with a foamy head. Aroma of herbal hops, stingy notes, crisp malts and resinous notes. Taste is sweetish, herbal hoppy and crisp malty with some grassy and resinous notes. Finish is dry, bitter and herbal with some crisp maltiness. Okay, but I’m not the biggest fan of this kind of herbal hop profile.

Cloudy dull brown with bubbly head. Bitterness and butterness, muddy yeast and not much else. I used to like this brewery...a real disappointment.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper with moderate head. Aromas of pine, tropical fruit, and toasted malts. Flavors of candied grapefruit, rubber, pine, brown sugar, and tropical fruit. Definitely fruity. Very nice but not really distinctive.
