Kopi Luwak is one of the World's most expensive and rare coffee varieties. The beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds off the fruit of the coffee cherry. They are then gathered by humans from the jungle floors of Indonesia, thoroughly cleaned, and sun-dried. A precise roasting by San Diego's Ryan Bros. coffee leads to an extremely aromatic and exceptionally smooth final product that complements this imperial stout amazingly well. Good to the last dropping!

Black with brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, slight phenols, cocoa, ovomaltine, lacto. Taste is spicy with lots of sweet chocolate and bitter coffee. Very smooth with a spicy note on top. Long bittersweet finish. Good, slightly too spicy.

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is fruity, espresso ground, black chocolate, metallic. Taste is espresso, black chocolate, metallic again. Very well-balanced. Nice, but a bit metallic - maybe a bit too old.

Bouteille 75cl courtesy of El Manana +1 @ Sebletitje’s Farewell Tasting.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: roasted start, lots of chocolate, some coffee, very yeasty, some vanilla. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet start, very roasted, bit sourish, alcohol, lots of dark chocolate, bit fruity. Aftertaste: hoppy, bitter, chocolate, very roasted, slightly sweet, hoppy, very roasted finish. Not getting too much coffee.

Consumed like 2 years ago, from a bottle. Poured a smooth dark, almost black-brown color with a nice small brown head. Aroma was rich coffee and chocolate, dark, molasses malt notes to it as well. Flavor was chocolate, roast and of course, coffee.

Poured from 750 bottle, thanks Willrunforbeer. Pours dark chocolate with rich brown head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, and coffee. Taste is smooth and silky, like the Patriots trouncing the Colts 45 to 7. Notes of chocolate, coffee and an exceptional finish. This is a super beer.
