Flaska från trade, vintage 2014. Mörk rubinröd/rostbrun med liten beige krona. Röda bär, körsbär, körsbärskärnor, lätt kola-ton. Viss funkighet och tydlig lakto-ton i syrligheten. En liten, liten släng av äppelcidervinäger. Lätt kropp, något tunn. För att vara en så lätt suris är den imponerande. Inte det bästa av Rare Barrel, men kvalitén känns igen.

750ml bottle thanks Spence. Pours out a brownish copper topped with a small head. Nose is more of the rare barrel oak balsamic vinegar some fruit notes and a nice sweetness. Taste is more of the sweet tart and barrel notes.

Fra flaske på RBHD-samling på Fridtjofen april-15: mørk brunrød farge med kort filmskum. Pregnant sursøt aroma med vinøse overtoner (brett, lacto og bær). Litt vanilje kryper kledelig inn i smaken, som er en uvanlig og meget god opplevelse, første gang jeg smaker et fatlagret surøl med bare 4%. Avrundet ettersmak.

Shared bottle at RB/HD on board Fridtjofen 14.04.15. Clear, pale copper. Diminishing, pale brown head. Aroma of sour berries. Similarly sour taste of fermented berries, but also malt. Dry mouthfeel.

Shared 750 ml bottle at local tasting. Ruby colour, small off-white head. Sourish aroma, sharp notes of brettanomyces / farmhouse, red wine vinegar and oak. Dry and sour flavour, brett galore, vinegar and lemons.

Rare Barrel tasting @ Malt Attacks, Brussels, thanks Pierre for sharing the bottles. 75cl de couleur cuivrée, au col léger blanc-cassé. Arôme au profil assez suret, fruité modéré et dominé par les bretts et un léger fruité noire en retrait. Palais rappelle un malta dont le caractère grains-drêche semble dominant. Pointe aigrelette fruitée perce en fin de bouche avec un certain caractère malté. Probablement la moins préférée des 6.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. Pours a cloudy brown with off beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is cherry skin, oak, and dark fruits. Thin mouthfeel with nice dark fruits, oak, cherry skin and nice tart finish. Easy to drink, very impressive.

Draft. Bronze beer with a cream head. Tart aroma. Tart and light sour flavor with light cocoa and light dark fruit. Medium bodied. Sour and light dark fruit lingers with light cocoa.
