Bottle at Deansoβs crappy music tasting. Poured a deep mahogany with a broken tan head. The flavour is bitter with lots of liqourice, a little sour which sticks in the palate and into the aftertaste. Not quite what I was expecting but an amazing beer.

Sampled from bottle @ Dean plays crappy music tasting. Opaque black color, small light brown head. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasty, some fruitiness, some bitter. Very nice actually! Really like it! Medium body and carbonation.

Re-rated at BBF13. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, fudge and chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Much better than when I tried it the first time.

Cask at Andrew Usherβs. Black body with a medium beige head that holds well. Great lacing. Aroma of Mars bar and berries. Flavour of cherry, berries, chocolate and caramel with a gentle bitterness. Medium body with a smooth, oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A hoppy, fruity stout with no hint of its 6.8% ABV. Very easy to drink.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 18/09/12. Dark mahogony brown with a good frothy tan head. Roast malts, chocolate, background dark fruit tones on the nose. Tastes of roasted malts, toffee, oats, chocolate and a little spice. Medium bodied but a fair bite in terms of thickness with a smooth finish.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 25 Nov 2011) Black colour with hints of ruby when seen through light. Foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and dark/dried fruit. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, dried fruit and a touch of cherries in brandy. Medium body, with a slight bitterness and a touch of sweetness. Tasty and quite powerful. Very nice.

Cask@Euston Tap, London. Very deep amber colour, close to black, with a small off-white heaad. Aroma is liquorice, some fudge, dark fruits and some mild plummy notes. Flavour is chocolate, liquorice, dark dry fruits as well as some toffee and quite nice bitterness. Long bitter aftertaste.
