I thought The Prophet Bourbon Reserva was pretty decent, time to determine the basic Prophet. Another 33 cl bottle obtained from Belgian Happiness, happy to have the access. A tulip glass from Straffe Hendrik to receive this brew, it shows a medium gold body with a limited, almost pure white head but with a tremendous amount of carbonation at work. The scent is definitely along the lines of a quadrupel, ripe fruit, raisins and a bit of grain. The taste is a bit different but still good. Yellow raisins, plums, yeast, white bread, cough drops curiously and a definite alcohol influence. Not one I would seek again, qualified by my appreciation for quads, but would sure drink if offered.

21/VII/16 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: XI/2017 (2016-778)

Note: cellar aged this for quite a while, apparently.
Pretty cloudy beige to orange beer, small irregular aery off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty oxidised, honey, sweet, sugary, orange peel. MF: soft to no carbon, full body. Taste: very sweet and sugary start, some ripe banana, bit metallic, banana peel, lots and lots of alcohol. Aftertaste: bit sourish, pretty oxidised, honey, mead, molasses, more alcohol.

Hazy orange - gold beer, tiny pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and a little dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light malt sweetness. Drying alcohol. Mild brandy. Modest tangy dry orange. Little spice. Light dry finish. Clunky for sure but surprisingly drinkable.
