On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is pretty laid back, with light grassy notes and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is rather herbal, with light grass further back and dry biscuity malt. Too herbal, even a bit skunky in the off-flavour sense. Not feeling this.

This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a hazy crusty burnt yellow almost hazed over orange color. Thin white head glossing over sly the body. Sly ridged lacing here and there.
The aroma keeps sweet grassy hops up front over sly biscuity malts. Light breadiness. Low bitterness, barely there.
The flavor takes on the sweet bready/biscuitiness, grassy sweet to bitter hops.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body. Sessionable. Carbonation feels good.
Overall, good German pilsener that I could come back to.

Bottle from The Drinkery Derry. Brilliantly clear light golden color with a smallish bubbly white head. A bit of skunk escaped from the bottle as I popped this open but quickly subsided. Light grainy malt, light fruitiness, light floral hops, and hints of sulfur. Not as clean as this should be for the style.

Bottle 12fl.oz. [ As Left Hand Polestar Pilsner ].Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate hoppy, grass - green grass, silage. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, green grass, silage, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140813]

27th May 2015: on-tap @ Pizza Port, Carlsbad and @ Surfside Tap Room, Oceanside. Drank to cleanse my palate which sipping stronger, darker brews (did not fancy using water). Most likely the best lager/pilsner based beer I had during my month in Southern California, I thought it looked the part: clean, clear and golden with a snow white topping. It was both crisp and dry in nature and although it had the usual weak pilsner aroma it had enough maltiness within the hop profile to stay true to it’s stated German style.
