Black is beautiful! Keg at the brewery, a jet black coloured pour with a lasting frothy mid tan head. Aroma is rich earthy coffee nutty roast, light ashy, light burnt blackened sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet , ashy, brown sugars, earthy damp smoked malts, earthy coffee. Palate is medium bodied, highish carbonation. Semi drying finish, airy. Nice coffee character.

Draught. Deep black with a frothy quickly disappearing cream head. Aroma of lightly toasted malt and some fruit. Flavour is balanced roast with Christmas cake fruit and an even sweetness tempered by the dryness of the palate. Finish is even dry bitter

Draft @ Eschenbräu, more along the lines of a porter. Ma preferee lorsd e ma visite. Brune foncee, mousse moka.

(Draught at the brewpub, Berlin, 21 July 2010) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, dark rye bread, dark chocolate and a touch of raisins. Medium body, mainly dry, with a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Excellent schwarzbier.
