An inspired hybrid that blurs the boundaries between IPA and Amber styles. The exceptional blend of American hops (including the harder-to-find Horizon variety) gives it an intense pine, citrus and earthy character in the nose and on the tongue.

Pours a nice reddish-amber. Floral, hoppy aroma. Nice IPA-like flavor of hops and citrus, coupled with a roasted malt undertone.

Purchased at Binny’s to celebrate my birthday in July, enjoyed on Halloween weekend...it’s been in the back of my fridge for quite some time. Appearance a slightly clear darkish brown with a thin white head. Aroma of bready malt, spices, hops, smells nice. Taste is definitely malty but the hops come out more in the flavor, medium body and carbonation, pretty solid red ale.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a large creamy tan head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was faint caramel and dryish vague fruity/floral hops. The flavor was bitter with faint fruity and floral hops and nothing else of note. The flavor quickly falls off a cliff to water. Light body. Disappointing.

12 ounce bottle from Belmont Party Supply. Pours a clear dark brown color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of nutty notes, chocolate and leafy hops. The taste is bitter leafy hops, nutty notes, chocolate and honey. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

12oz bottle. Aroma was light, sweet malt notes. Enjoyable sweet notes, malts, mild slightly earthy hops. Slightly bitter, sweet notes. Highly drinkable on a hot day, but nothing to call home about. Worth getting in a variety pack.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with a nice, big head, which begins to fall in on itself right away. Can’t pick up much smell in my current state. Taste: Good use of American hops. The malt is well-roasted and caramelly. Some slightly sharp bitter hops, then behind that is some piny Cascade-like hops. More pine further down. Very tasty Summit beer.

This was a bonus in a trade and I just thought it was some throwaway nothing beer. I was quite wrong. This is a tasty smallish Red Ale. It has a fruity, sweet malt character with relatively strong hopping. It’s not nearly as hopped up as some of the Red Ales made by good West coast craft brewers, but it’s definitely an assertively hoppy beer. The hops are of the bitter pine/spruce/pith variety. I could happily drink this beer regularly.

Big thanks to probiere for this sample. Pour is brownish yellow with some brown and a rocky head. Friendly yeasty aroma. Not a whole lotta carbonation on the palate even tho it foams allot on the pour. Bitter initial flavors that kick. Lots of personality. Almost on style for an IPA, which it is not. Quite strong territory. Long bitter malty medicinal alky finish. Seems much more than the 5.7% listed here.
