A reddish copper ale with no head. In aroma, sweet candy sugar, a bit of cinnamon, faint. In mouth, a sweet burned caramel, fruity esters, very nutty, loads of residual sugars, maple extract, cloying. On tap at brewpub, Jan. 8 2011.

on tap-pours ruby red with a rich beige dissipating head that laces. Aroma is sweet medium malt-brown sugar. Taste is sweet medium malt-brown sugar, dark fruit-grape/plum, some earthy hops. Slight alcohol, soft carbonation, nice.

Poured up on tap at TBBC with ruby red mahogany looking body and lasting tan head along with some sheet lacing. The aroma is sweet dark fruity esters, smooth sweet caramel and more sweet dark fruitiness. The taste has a brief malt and graininess sense to it that quickly get over-run by prunes and ripe cherries with increasing levels of caramel malts, caramel candy and slick and sticky sweet malts. Not to be outdone by the moment or two of various maltiness the rich dark fruitiness returns in force and takes this to the finish with a faint sprinkling of black pepper too.
