Rating #3700!!! Deep dark brown coloured body with a fully opaque look when held up to a bright light, all with a three centimetre tall light brown head - very nice looking. Aroma of super complex flavours - sour and very noticeable brett going on, with a lot of lighter fruit based sugars and a still pungent note of roasted malt, anise and a bit of earth. Medium-bodied; Assertive sour and bretty notes at first then transition to an almost porter-like beer with a bunch or roasted malt flavours coupled with caramelised sugars and a very earthy flavour. Aftertaste is very complex with some sour notes mashed with mostly deep and roasty/robust flavours. Overall, a very nice beer and well-crafted along with being a different style/innovative beer makes a perfect choice for a landmark beer (3700 for me) and i’m very happy that I brought this back down with me and wish it was more available, as most of the Midnight Sun beers. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Brown Jug (Old Seward Location) in Anchorage, Alaska on 18-June-2011 for US$7.99 sampled at home on the opposite end of the country in Washington on 05-December-2012.

Bottle shared by someone at Sourfest. Pours with a murky deep brown to near black body. Aromas are fruity, dark fruits, currants, earthy, soil, light funk. Flavors are slightly tart, earthy, ashy, roast, dark fruits and berries. Medium bubbles, dry with noticeable alcohol.

Bottle at the Triple Rock Sour & BA Fest. Pours black with a small tan head. Sour aroma. Flavor is oaky, sour and astringent. HInts of citrus and berries and other fruits. A quite excellent beer.
