Tap at De Molen restaurant during Borefts. Black with big beige head. Marzipan, sweet red fruits, some milk chocolate, cognac, light North African spices. Sweet with light bitter finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Nice stuff.

[2/25/15] Draught at Cascade Brewing Barrel House in Portland. 2013 edition. 10%. Black with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon and vanilla. Sweet flavor with chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and a slightly burnt finish. Full-bodied.

Draft - Dark chocolate and coco powder. Jet black with a decent brown rim. Dark chocolate, oak, bourbon, vanilla and a dry finish. Just when you thought their sours were good, the go and produce awesome everything.

Awesome beer. On tap at the Barrel House. I had the Chery Diesel so this came with high expectations. Pours a viscous black oily body with a small beige head. A light nose of chocolate, dark fruit, prunes, some wood. The flavor was light on the barrel treatment, but huge dark fruit, very viscous, lactose/milky malts, a medium roast. Awesome stout! Lovely, a really perfect palate.

A deep dark stout with a thin lacing dark brown head. In aroma, nice coffee and bitter chocolate and woody notes, grassy hops, nice. In mouth, a bitter chocolate with light licorice, molasses, grassy hops, sustained alcohol, delicious. On tap at Portland brewery, Oct. 7 2012.

On tap at Brouwer's for Big Wood, pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of wood / bourbon, some acidic notes and roasted malt. Flavour is quite roasty, with some tart notes (maybe some sour fruit barrels), light espresso and chocolate. Not a fan of the tart barrel qualities but it's well-made.
