On tap at Glenfiddish Warehouse No 68. Nynäshamns ESB was interesting, not at all as I had expected. Initially I got a little vibe of a barley wine but then it got more flavors of yeast and something sweet, like honey. Not unlike an IPA in the end, bitterness tickled nice.

Cask at Bishop Arms, Malmø. A red-amber beer with a thin bubbly off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of over ripe fruits as well as lesser notes of alcohol and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruit - especially peaches, yeast, and malt, and lesser notes of alcohol and hops, leading to a dry alcoholic finish, where a note of celery shows up.

From cask at Bishops arms, Malmö. Pours clear and golden orange with a minimal white head. Aroma is sweet peachy and fruity hops. Mild spiced hops flavoured with a sweet peach and apple scent. Lasting bitter and spiced hops flavour with a mild peachy fruity note. Growing bitterness yet also with a very distinct peach fruity flavour, almost as if real fruit was added.

(Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse 68, Stockholm, 23 Feb 2009) Dark amber colour with rocky, off-white head. Fruity, slightly yeasty nose with dark fruit, caramel and earthy hops. Fruity, malty, slightly yeasty taste with notes of dark fruit, caramel and generous doses of earthy hops in a fairly bitter finish. Slightly above medium body. The signature Nynäs character of earthy hops and a hint of yeast is obvious but they do have some beers that are more Extra Special Nynäs. Very nice beer though.

Cask at Bishops Arms, Avenyn, GöteborgOn February 21, 2009Hazy brown color, small big bubbled whit ehead. Fruity hoppy scent. Bitter, caramel, alcohol, hoppy taste. Typical Nynäshamn flavor present. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Quite good, but perhaps a bit too strong since the alchol somtimes is quite evident.

Amber color, clean, with big creamy head. Aroma of caramel, some hops, English yeast; in depth, there is some nice hop flowers, light, and this contrasts with some light oranges and spices, I guess product of the fermentation, because even later they tend to be soapy. Solid body, with good caramel flavor, light sweetness to make it rounder, respectable bitterness, where the hop gives also a medium fruitness and some resins. Long final. Powerful, yet balanced. Excellent and interesting.

Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse, Stockholm. Copper coloured. Smells of belgian east! Tastes like an imperial bitter or IPA rather than your average ESB. A bit german bitter hopps, god body to balance the bitterness.
