Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a big raspberry with some char malt and alcohol. Flavor is a thick sweet cloying raspberry, a minor roasted malt with a little alcohol heat. Finish leaves a nice berry on the tongue as this goes down. I don’t get much "Belgian" aspects out of this but as a fruit flavored porter this is fine just a little bit too much of boozy hotness.

From my future son in law. Smells like alarming volatile fruit. First taste is a big alky whallop. Yes, quite high in alky impact. Alky overcomes the whole personality of this brew. Way over the top, you’d never know its a fruit beer, heheh. Yes, this is black beer but its not stoutish at all.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black, with a medium, tan head. The aroma is bitter chocolate, tart raspberries, some earthiness, and a little cinnamon. Mild sweetness, with a significant bitterness and just a hint of tartness. Medium body, lightly acidic, sticky and astringent. Overall, this is a nice attempt, but it is much too bitter. Not really pleasant to drink.

A dark brown ale with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light alcohol and berry notes. In mouth, powdery chocolate malt with light berries, a bit of off character, grassy, OK.

Dark as night with a deep head. Aroma was lightly roasted, raspberry- but not overpowering, dark fruits, light sourness. Full bodied. Flavor starts stout like, moving to sour raspberry, dark fruits, roasted malts, cocoa. Finish was long and lightly sour. Very well done.

Found in old notes before I tossed them, RBSG 2010 - Berry smell, the flavor is big on the fruit with plenty of berries, a little roasted character, a medium body, and it has a sour character to it. Okay.

Served on draft at Thirsty Monk South. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate and berries. The taste is roasted malts, nutty notes, chocolate, herbal hops and mild berries in the finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

22oz bottle pours an oily opaque black with a thin, spitty beige head. Big raspberry aroma, very jammy, chocolate, very fruity. Flavor is sweet, tart, raspberry, lots of berries, raspberries too, light malt. Medium bodied, sweet finish.
