Pours dark amber with beige creamy head, decent lacing. Aroma is mostly roast malt with a touch of winter spice, taste is more of the malt, some sharp hops and a little spice to provide some bite. Nice winter ale.

Bottle. A- Molasses, caramel, roasty, toast, nuts, bread, spices. A- Mahogany color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Spices, allspice, cloves, cinnamon, nuts, molasses, slightly bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spicy finish. O-A lot of spices going on here. Reminds me of Christmas.

12oz bottle poured into a Blvd tulip glass. I think this is the first batch where the neck label has the year. Coded 3274 = bottled on April 1, 2013, which seems super early. Best by 2/07/14. Pours with a nice medium sized strong head that fades to a thick surface covering lacing. Has a beautiful deep amber color with ruby tints, some haze up against a light. A little visible carbonation in the middle of the glass. Very pretty beer, particular the hue against the light. Aroma is strong with fruited light alcohol and hops. Hops are some citrus, some pine, some bitterness - a relatively nice mix. The English character is a bit like a milder Young’s Old Nick (anyone remember that beer?). The flavor is a nice balance of English fruit character with bitter hops. A nice medium bitter finish. A spritzy feel to go along with the tickling hop flavors. A nice beer, I prefer my Winter Warmers to be less hop centric and I would rather drink the Nutsack and ago all out for the hops.

On tap in a flight at Ale Yeah! Light brown color, with a medium, bubbly, beige head. The aroma is brown sugar, ginger snaps, and light resinous hops, and some chalkiness. The flavor is grainy and sweet, with light bitterness. Light to medium body, grainy, and acerbic. Overall, this is a nice, light, and malty beer, but it’s nothing special.

Bottle. Orange-caramel malt and orange peel aroma. Dark amber with large head. Sweet caramel malt and moderately bitter orange peel hops flavor. Light body. Okay.

Draft at Rich Os. Deep brown body with a fizzy, off-white head rapidly diminishing. Aroma of toasted grain, resin, grapefruit, spice and a hint of roasted malt. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Similar in flavor to a black IPA with some spiciness thrown in. Lingering bitterness on top of roast and grain.

Aroma: The nose is mostly grassy hops, caramel, toffee, earth, and some spice (nutmeg, ginger, etc...)
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear reddish-brown color with a big, foamy beige head and spotty, light lace
Flavor: Tastes medium sweet (toffee, caramel), with some decent spice, and a grassy, earthy bitterness
Palate: Medium bodied (leaning full), a fairly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation, and a semi-dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a very solid attempt at the Winter Warmer style. I liked the balance of sweetness, spice, and hops, and I thought that they all worked pretty well together. A nice offering from Boulevard.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber/light coppery brown with a decent head and earthy aromas with some toffee notes. Flavor is a nice mix of light toffee and brown sugar with nutiness and a little earth. Decent, but not sure I missed a whole lot waiting this long to rate this one. A decent beer, but not a particularly innovative one.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into an English Pint. Pours a hazy amber with about a finger of light tan head. Aroma is mostly pine hops with a little caramel and bubble gum. Taste is medium bitter. Pine and a bit of caramel. Medium bodied with a slick texture. Lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, pretty good. Best Boulevard beer I’ve had yet.

deep mahogany with white head. Some spice on the nose. Full, chewy mouthfeel. Nice malt and muted spice. A nice winter refresher that does not overpower with spices.
