Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of cherries, roasted malt, and fruit, as well as lighter notes of wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, cherries, and roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of wood, alcohol, and brettanomyces, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Black color; big head, creamy. The aroma is tarty, it reminds me of BFM; is it intentional or an infection? It’s even a bit cheesy. Good body strength, round body, with good chocolate flavor and light sourness; some sweetness and strong bitterness; well balanced; dynamic. Maybe something is wrong, but the result is surely very good.

From bottle, blind #15. Pours dark brown to black with huge tan head. Acidic and fruity sourish aroma to a nice roasted base. Dry and slight smoked too. Smoked, roasted and fruity flavoured. Distinct smoked touch into the far finish. Light acidic too. Light hoppy too. Bitter and medium dry as the main lasting finishing impression.

Tap at Stone Bistro. Wow, either this was the intended taste and aroma, and that’s just an amazing Baltic porter or I got poured the wrong beer. Pours black, mocha head. Aroma was just funky, with a sour nose. Taste,. sour and not anything I would have expected in a Baltic, but it just made the flavor outstanding. Dark fruits, some wood notes, malts and chocolate, some yeasty presence, toffee. I was getting a lot of brett / sourness.

Pours with a thin dark brown head that reverts to a brown ring. Black body. Aroma of alcohol, fruity esters, chocolate, coffee, and chocolate-chip oatmeal cookie. Taste is chocolaty, smokey, and slightly metallic. Syrupy mouthfeel, mouth coating with light bubbles and well hidden alcohol

Bomber from South Bay Drug. Opaque black color with a 3-finger dark tan head. Aroma is rather mild. Dark roasted malt with a touch of chocolate. Flavor is exquisite roasted malt, with some chocolate, and possibly some dark fruit. Body is hard to figure out, as the carbonation is so firm and frothy. Let’s call it full bodied. The finish is reasonably dry, and the mouthfeel is wonderful. Not harsh. Not sticky. A really good Baltic Porter.

Bottle shared by Odeed; Nose very lightly funky to start; then coffee and chocolate and light smokiness; black with a huge beige head that laces lughtly; flavor of light hop bitterness, coffee, chocolate, and some peppery spiciness on my tongue; over carbonated !

On tap @ the Stone World Bistro. Pours nearly black with lasting mocha head and sheet lacing. The aroma is roasty, mildly sweet and cut with mild oxidation and dark fruity esters. I asked the bartender how long this one has been offered on tap. I guess they go through it pretty quick. So I’m not sure of the source of oxidation. The taste begins with a thick inviting sensation. I then get bold roasty malt notes mixed with burnt malts, dark fruity esters and mild funky oxidation. The oxidation actually works nicely with the rest of the flavors including some chocolate malts into the finish.
