Originally rated June 2010. Thanks to David (Lilihel’s bother) for this one... and enjoyed in Nashville. Pours a copper colour with a beige head with wavy lacing. Lightly carbonated with tiny bubbles. Dark roasted malt scent with a bit of nut. Watery mouthfeel. Soft taste of roasted malt and nutty with a touch of coffee. More of a refreshing easy-drinking bock than a real bock, but still a pretty good average one.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours very dark amber with a transient fizzy beige head. Aroma of heavily roasted malt with something like leaves/herbs. Med body. Flavor is roast malt, with something like herbal bitter. More sweet than not. Not bad.

Pours clear deep brown into a Sam glass. Tan micro head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Nutty caramel and toast aromas. Dry with upfront pit fruit turning to nuts in the middle and a slightly sour lasting chocolate finish.

12 oz bottle into snifter. Aroma is bland--a little Sweet Tarts candy, faint malt. Pours brownish amber with a medium dissipating head that leaves nice lacework. Cinnamon comes out in the flavor; (picture Austin Powers) it’s a bit nutty. Sweet with little hop presence. Somewhat salty aftertaste. A little tart mid-sip. High carbonation. Overall, better than expected, but not terribly interesting. Not as boring as I was expecting, though. Just kind of middle of the road.

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a fading tan head and a brown body. Aroma of maple, horse and nutshells. Taste is nutty, dry, caramel, and not that good [my notes are a bit more...uhh..to the point]. Not repeatable.

Nice look - deep brown coloured body of cola tint and a nice thinnish tan head. Aroma of malt, metal, light fruit and not much else - pretty bland in the nose. Light-bodied; Funky cardboard and metallic malt flavour with some rice, cherries and a slight off-taste and not much else - very bland indeed. Aftertaste shows just about nothing, maybe cardboard and cherries, but not much more. Overall, a pretty bland beer - not much to not dislike, but simply not much to enjoy! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits on 15-February-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 23-February-2010.

Pours clear amber with deep rose hues and tan head. The aroma is mild in strength emitting a bit of very dark fruity esters and caramel and little else. The taste has a bit of roasted dryness to start with a dash of caramel and then moving into not so rich dark fruity esters. It ends with lingering brown sugar, dark fruit and a touch of roastiness.

Solid molasses aroma with candied side notes.Mahogany color, medium tan head. Stinging mouthfeel and overly acidic. Fairly nondescript flavor with only horehound and a woodiness discernible. Not heavy, and seems too weak to be classified as a bock. Dunkel, yes.

Overall Impression: Golden citrus beer...kind of citrusy with a slight twang.
