Bottle: Poured a clear bubbly golden color with a thin carbonated head. Aroma is winey and fruit. Taste is very fruit with some wood and grapes coming on. There is a dry brett like finish.

Bottle marked 8.29.2008 thanks to AmEricanbrew. Pours with a particle filled yellow body with a white head. Aroma is bitter, chardonnay like, herbal. Flavor has notes of light wine, light brett, champagne and earthy. I also got a distinct vegital character that I didn’t really care for. Lively bubbles.

Bottle Pours out a hazy apricot topped with a white head. Aroma of fruit apricot along with some nice oak notes. Taste more of the oak, the fruit once again showing up. Along with some vanilla sweetness. A tast treat. thanks Toby

Thanks to goldtwins for sharing - lightly hazy and fizzy - I really wanted to like this beer a lot more than I did - I typically like my bretty belgian ales to be very dry, and I think the relative sweetness of this simply doesn’t work with the young brett character - it is present, but not very mature, and it fails to rise above the sweetness and light tropical fruits - the chardonnay adds a grape flavor that adds to the fruitiness, and unfortunately, makes the sweentess that much more noticeable - maybe if this dries out over time, I’ll like it more.

courtesy of our local Alaskan, Wisconsin Irishman, Gillard. Really loving all of the Midnight Sun brews, and this one is no exception. Pours nice golden with white head. Aroma of brett, melon and a nice raisins touch mixed with the Chardonnay. Taste of the wooden barrel really comes alive and brings a very sweet touch of fruity raisins blanc Chardonnay. Overall mouthfeel is thick and grainy with the brett adding some light bitterness. A trully amazing brew and excellent Belgian strong ale.

Big thanks to Gillard for bringing us yet another tasty brew from Alaska. Pours moderately hazy straw with gold hues and white head. The Brett tartness I can smell from a foot away from my glass, and I think I can even see a bit of Brettness floating around in the body of the beer. Behind the Brett I can smell just a bit of sweetness. The taste starts with a pulse of apricot and cantaloupe fruit sweetness that moves into more and more Brett tartness. As the finish approaches I also get some drying tannins and a white wine note.
