Something different from Unibroue. Smells very much like a saison, lots of spicy/peppery notes. The flavour again, it very spicy like a saison, some nice hops, and a crisp clean finish.

Opens with a resounding POP! Pours clear light gold into the glass with a tall, lasting white head that laces nicely. Fruity clean aroma. Very nice. Lightly sweet flavor that follows the fruity aroma. Medium bodied, lively.

Smells yeasty. Pours cloudy blond, like a hefe or triple. Taste has the same yeast profile as a lot of Unibroue beers, I guess it’s the "on lees." These lees leave a bit of cloying sourness at the end which takes away from the overall beer, but otherwise it’s decent, enjoyable. Big points for low price, in Quebec at least. Bottle from Peluso.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 2008 presumably. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger foamy white head with ok retention, that reduces to lacing ring that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big grape, apple, pear, apricot, pepper, floral, clove, lemon, caramel, honey, herbal, earth, and yeast spices. Nice and well balanced aromas with good complexity. Taste of grape, pear, apple, apricot, pepper, biscuit, floral, clove, caramel, yeast spices, and slight butterscotch. Lingering notes of apple, apricot, grape, pepper, clove, biscuit, and caramel on the finish for a good bit. Nice flavor balance with good complexities. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly slick and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden, with hardly any warming present after the finish. Very smooth to sip on as well. Overall this is a very nice Belgian strong pale ale. Nice complexity and flavor balance; and extremely smooth to sip on.

bottle (approx 3 years old) - Pours cloudy gold with a thin white head. The aroma is of yeast, fruit, and spices. It’s a gently carbonated brew with sweet malt, vague but tasty fruity tones, and spicy yeast. This brew is holding up well so far. Tasty.

Bottle, 2008, at MaxxDaddy Beerwarming Party. Pours a cloudy gold with a mild, white head. Sugary, light floral aroma with malts, yeast and dough. Flavor is quite sweet with strong bubblegum and fruit. Has a fairly mellow character. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes sweet and bready. Very nice.
