Draft at 'T Schrijverke in Brugge, Belgium. Thanks, Don! Pours a dark reddish amber color with a small beige head. Slight caramel aroma. Slightly tart and fruity flavor. Almost tastes like a wine. Not really my style. At least it's smooth and clean. Medium body and medium light carbonation. Not bitter at all.

Glas gedronken tijdens vakantie in België.

Bottle with Steve, thanks! Medium brown, fine bubbles, mild nose with sour grape hints. A bit of sweetness, brown sugar (Kandis?), A nice balanced brown with a bit of sourness.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep amber to brown with some orange chinks. Beige, fluffy head. Nose - burnt brown bread, beefy and very little to indicate that it's a Flemish red or brown. Taste - caramel, toasted brown bread and a light tang of something in the vinegar direction. Palate - medium bodied, creamy and roasty, but where's the sour? Overall - where's the sour?
